Editing shadows, creating cover

Grace and I decided that she should focus on photoshopping the shadow into the photographs as she had to skills and understands how to use the program. I focused on the magazine layout/typography and cover design and on the day of the exhibition we brought our work together, which worked really well.

Illustrator:

This was the first time I had ever used an adobe program so it took me a while to get the hang of it but I enjoyed messing around- trying to fully understand its functions. I didn't think I was going to enjoy digital work that much but I found it really interesting to consider the font, layout and colours. I brought in the colours of our clothes into each cover and came to an outcome that I was happy with.
However, when it came to incorporating Grace's work into the cover, unfortunately, the Illustrator I was using was an old model and not compatible with Grace's laptop so the layout was all muddled. This was very frustrating as it took me a while to find an effective layout and at the last minute, we had to redesign the cover with new fonts/slightly different layouts which was a little tricky as our knowledge of Illustrator was limited.
Honestly, I almost prefer the old layout- I think the text is more effective but what can you do. Either way, Grace edited the shadows effectively and I think it looks really cool even though I am not entirely satisfied with the cover.
