Finished Product

Overall, I am not satisfied with the outcome of the 'Calm Clam'- it's kinda underwhelming. I think the details of the seaweed and sea using wire, thread and bubble wrap on both sides of the chair are successful, but they are only visible up close. I also enjoyed working in a group and communicating different ideas. I think If we had more time I think we could've improved the set surrounding the clam and added more props to make it more immersive, but in my opinion, the overall idea falls short. On reflection, and especially after seeing the other instillations in response to the 'Ball Project', I would've liked to explore a more interactive outcome that had more depth to it, rather than just being a model, it would represent more. I think we could've aimed higher and created a more conceptual piece. As a huge instillation, I still think it could be cool and perhaps we should've made a model conveying its size with model people to communicate this because as a sculpture it looks alright and that's about it.
